The Branch of Electronics and Communication Engineering was started in GVIT in the year 1993.Six batches of students have gone out with flying colors, most of them are well placed in reputed companies like Infosys, Wipro, Ericison, BSNL.etc in India and abroad. The Department is well Established in all aspects and aims at bringing excellence in both academic and industry related activities. The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is headed by Mrs.Rukmani Diwakaran.

It is well established with High voltage Power Supplies, Motors, Choppers, Inverters, Controllers,Converters, High Rating Transformers, etc.The students will be taught about controlling speed,light,etc.. using SCRS and TRIACS.Analog Electronics Lab is well established and equipped with Cathode Ray Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Function Generators DC Power Supplies and Latest digital multimeters.

Digital Electronics Lab is well established with the Digital Trainers, Oscilloscopes, Multimeters and Function Generators.It is equipped with 8085 processor kits including the interfaces like ADC, DAC, Keyboard, Logic Controllers, EPROM Programmer, Stepper motor etc.

Communication Lab is well equipped with AM generators, Oscilloscopes, Sine wave generators, AM receivers, Air Conditioned Micro Wave Chamber with four test benches, Digital Communication Kits, Fibre Optic Kits, etc.

This lab is provided to cater the need of various labs such as Computer Communication Lab, DSP Lab, Micro controller Lab, Advanced Microprocessor Lab, VHDL Lab and Project Lab with Digital Communication Trainer, LAN Trainers, High End Server, Internet & Intranet facilities.
